When I arrived in New Zealand 10 years ago, I challenged myself with a documentary project to get to know the country and the people. From Bud to Bottle tells the story of a local winery over a full year.
I photographed their vineyards, their winery, their harvesting, their wine making, their bottling and their team. The book took over a year’s to complete.
I thoroughly enjoyed photographing every week throughout the seasons followed by image selection, post processing, spread layout and book design. I decided to litho print in China dealing directly with the print and self published and distributed
I am very pleased with result, a 96 page, A4 landscape, full colour, hardback book. The project introduced me to New Zealand's industry and led to many jobs across the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne.
Having shifted to Nelson / Tasman I'm looking forward to getting to know my local winemakers and growers.
